5 Ways Archer made me Examine What’s Important In The Design Process

When it comes to making quality tv shows Adam Reed made one of the most unique tv shows shown on television, Archer. The general gist of the show is a Secret agent and his coworkers are assigned dangerous missions and they sometimes succeed in their mission through dumb luck and tones of humor. The reason I love Archerso much is because of the way the designers create each episode and how each episode is different from one another. The first step in creating an episode of Archer is planning.

The Script

In order to design an episode of Archer the writers need to make a script. Now usually on a normal Tv show, everyone sits down at a table to discuss the direction they want the show to go. This isn’t the case for Archer. While there is some structure to the way the story of the show plays out most of the time the writers of the show get together and throw around ludicrous ideas for an episode and when all their ideas are out there then the producer of the show Adam Reed pick an idea and run with it. The reason I love this approach is that the writers can come up with some Funny ideas and they can end up in the show and make the episodes that much more hilarious. One example of this is in the episode where Archer gets cancer and he has to go on a rampage in order to get chemo treatment.

The reason Archer is such a great show is that the writers and producers are bold in what they want to make and they want the story to be like if a bunch of selfish children was to work in an office they make the show the way they want and they have fun with it. I wish to be able to design something as unique and creative as ArcherSomeday.
